What We Do
The Difference Your Support Means
- We Provide Feminine Products – for the entire school year to girls in school. This ensures they attend school consistently.
- We Provide Menstrual Hygiene Education – to address period shaming, myths, taboos, gender-based violence and other issues.
- We Provide Water Storage Tanks - (whether collecting rainwater or from a well). This water facilitates menstrual hygiene.
- We Teach Practical Skills – in making reusable sanitary towels & soap for their personal hygiene which also provides a source of income.
- We Create Awareness – among young men, parents, teachers and the community regarding period shaming, stigma, and gender-based violence.
- We Build Confidence & Self Esteem – among girls by encouraging them to dream and work towards achieving those dreams.
Testimonials
“Before the programme, there were many things about menstruation that I did not understand and was too embarrassed to ask about. The session gave me a safe place to ask questions and learn. I now understand that menstruation is normal and that I should not feel ashamed because of my period. Thank you to TDI and HOFNA for creating this opportunity for us.”

“I learned how to make reusable sanitary pads for myself. What I liked most was that I did not just receive something - I learned a skill that I can continue to use and teach someone else. It has made me feel more confident about managing my periods.”

“The soap-making training showed me that I can learn practical skills and make something useful with my own hands. We were able to produce soap and take it home, and I now know that the skill can also be used to make soap for other people. Thank you to TDI and HOFNA for believing in us and giving us these skills.”

“The programme helped me understand some of the challenges girls face when they are on their periods. We were able to talk about something that boys and girls do not usually discuss openly. I learned that supporting girls during their periods is important and that there should be no shame or teasing. Thank you to the organisers for helping us understand each other better.”

“Menstrual hygiene is a real challenge for many of our students. Some girls miss lessons or go home because they cannot afford menstrual products. This programme gave our students an opportunity to learn, ask questions and develop practical skills that can make a real difference in their lives. We are grateful to TDI and HOFNA for bringing this important initiative to our school.”

"This partnership made it possible to reach young people in communities where the need was particularly great. More than 1,000 girls and 600 boys were reached, while 200 girls gained practical skills in producing reusable sanitary pads and soap. Beyond the numbers, the programme opened important conversations about menstruation, stigma, gender-based violence and healthy relationships. We are deeply grateful to TDI for partnering with HOFNA and trusting us to deliver this important work."
